However, influences of Surrealism, various African arts, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism can be seen in his work regardless of the medium. In this untitled work, Hunt seems to create an imaginary landscape with a twisted, tree-like organic form with wild fronds in the foreground, and angular, steel-like structures—perhaps referencing his inclination for large-scale sculptures—atop a jagged cliff in the background. Hunt leaves the viewer with little to no clues about this scene’s meaning. Perhaps it is a landscape or perhaps it is merely an exercise in lines and forms."
