Round and Round, Ethel Denton Groos Gallery, November 4, 2017 - March 4, 2018 Label TextVictor Vasarely began his journey into geometric abstraction with an “alphabet” of basic shapes. He believed these infinitely versatile units could express the fundamental geometries and rhythms of nature in ways equally understandable to individuals of any culture or background. As demonstrated by the diversity of artists and cultures utilizing the circle, such basic shapes do share a universal appeal. However, Vasarely’s personal “language” is highly distinctive and recognizable.
