Exhibition History"Natural Forms: Contemporary Works by Japanese Women" at the KIA (October 26, 2019 - March 22, 2020)Label TextThough her introduction to art was the study of calligraphy at the age of six, Shinoda was attracted to abstract art as a mature artist. She spent two years in the United States (1956-58) and moved toward a more expressive style after encountering the works of Jackson Pollock. Utilizing the Western lithography printing method, she can transmit her fluid strokes to paper more spontaneously than with a carved block method. There are no works to discover for this record.
