Label TextIn the 1960s, Chicago artist Robert Natkin began to reduce his compositions to series of exclusively vertical elements. The simplified structure allowed him to concentrate on surface texture and the vibrating effects of contrasting colors. This print, concerned with light’s role in the perception of color, is part of an on-going series of paintings and prints named for Apollo, the Greek god of the sun.
