Exhibition History"The Way Forward: New Acquisitions at the KIA," July 28 - December 2, 2018.Label TextWhat drives Zigmunds Priede is the unknown. When he begins a piece seldom does he have a particular focus. Priede has said, “Once I engage it, the art has its own direction and I follow its pathways. If I don’t know what to do I’ll set it aside and come back to see where it will lead me.”
Priede is a Latvian born artist currently living and working in Kansas. Priede studied printmaking at the University of Minnesota and from there went on to be a master printmaker at Universal Limited Art Editions in New York. His time in New York allowed him to work alongside artists like Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg.
